November 8, 2026 – Boiled Owl
Join us for the 50th Annual Boiled Owl! Noel Sottile ’82 and her husband Jim have graciously agreed to host us once again at their home in Silver Spring. This event is open to Mawrters and their families.
We look forward to seeing you there for a great evening of food and conversation! To help us round out the menu, please note if you plan to bring an appetizer, entree, or dessert and home many guests will accompany you.
We ask that you bring enough of your dish to server 8-10 people and provide a card that lists ingredients for those with foof allergies and restricted diets. If you can also bring serving utensils, that would be an extra help! The club will provide beverages and dining ware.
If you prefer to pay instead of bring a dish, we are asking for $15 for members and $17 for non-members (adults). You can register in advance, or pay by cash or check to the Bryn Mawr Club of Washington, DC at the door.

The Board is excited to announce that we’re developing a Job Search Series—a set of interactive workshops designed to support our community through every stage of the job search process. From crafting standout resumes to navigating informational interviews and sharpening your job-hunting strategy, this series will offer practical tools and peer-driven insights.

Their mission: HIPS promotes the health, rights, and dignity of individuals and communities impacted by sexual exchange and/or drug use due to choice, coercion, or circumstance. HIPS provides compassionate harm reduction services, advocacy, and community engagement that is respectful, non-judgmental, and affirms and honors individual power and agency.

Annual MeetingSunday, May 16th, 2026 at 10am; Location Caren Mofidi’s home Join us for the club’s annual meeting! The annual meeting is part business meeting to go over the clubs affairs and plan for the next year, and part social affair (light snacks and mingling). We host it in May in honor of May Day. We will provide snacks and drinks. So we can ensure coverage for the event, please RSVP before May 14. The home is four blocks from the elevator entrance of the Woodley Park Metro stop. Playing with Language at Planet WordSaturday, June 21, 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM Join the Bryn Mawr Club of DC for a group exploration of Planet Word, the only museum in the country dedicated to renewing and inspiring a love of words and language. We will start with a group orientation, and then break up into smaller groups to enjoy the space. This event is open to Mawrters and their families, and registration goes to cover the cost of group admission. It is $15 for anyone over the age of 2. Please register before June 5, as we have to give our total group numbers to the museum in advance. |
